The Uruguayan striker  started out at Independiente and impressed enough that Alex Ferguson shelled out nearly £7 million to bring the striker to Old Trafford in 2001. His goals propelled him to another Golden Boot trophy and helped Athletico win the Europe League crown.

Forlan has only managed 8 appearances for Inter to date and scored 1 goal, so he will be hoping that the second half of the season see’s him stay fit and start banging in the goals once again. Diego doesn’t only impress at club level but is also Uruguay’s most capped player of all time, with 84 caps and 32 goals. Forlan proved he was truly one of the worlds best players with a fantastic 2010 World Cup which saw him named best player in the tournament. The 32 year old will be hoping that there are a few more achievements yet left in his fantastic career.
